At an age when most students are focused solely on academics, 17-year-old Arjun Vinayaka Doss is leading a transformative initiative that blends martial arts, education, and technology.
A student at the National Academy for Learning in Bengaluru, Arjun is a 3rd-degree Black Belt in Taekwondo and a certified Level 3 Coach—an achievement that places him among the youngest in his field.
Driven by a vision to empower youth, Arjun founded SHEild Taekwondo, an initiative aimed at providing self-defense training, confidence, and discipline to teenagers.
His journey began in 2022 during his volunteer work at a government school. There, he identified a critical gap—not just in education, but in confidence and personal safety among students.
Determined to address this, he introduced Taekwondo training, which soon gained traction and evolved into a structured program.
Through SHEild, Arjun has conducted free workshops for over 100 students, making martial arts accessible to those who need it the most.
He has also raised ₹40,000 to support students by providing training equipment and covering examination costs.
In an effort to scale his impact, Arjun developed TaekAI, an AI-powered web application that offers structured learning and personalized feedback.
This innovative platform allows students to access high-quality training beyond traditional classrooms.
Arjun’s leadership extends beyond training. He has authored a Taekwondo handbook, built a peer mentor network, and co-created comic stories that inspire young readers with real-life experiences.
His holistic approach focuses on physical, mental, and emotional development.
By combining tradition with innovation, Arjun Doss is redefining how martial arts are taught and experienced.
His journey serves as an inspiration for young leaders across the country, proving that passion, dedication, and vision can create a lasting impact.
